Floor areas / observation before decisions
Floor Area Observation Sheet
Describe the floor you can see without turning a visual observation into a material claim.
Record where floor materials change, what is unidentified and which areas are currently accessible before writing a care or service request.
Start your worksheetName areas and transitions clearly
Walk through the area for observation only and choose plain location names. Describe where one surface appears to meet another, including a doorway, border or inset. A visible transition is a reason to make another note, not proof that you know either material.
Separate observed appearance from documented identity. Brown planks can be recorded as an observation while the material remains unknown. An invoice, label or confirmed property record belongs in the evidence field. Do not scratch, wet or otherwise test a surface to complete this sheet.
Record access as a present fact
Describe the space currently visible and accessible without moving objects. Name blocked areas and household clearing questions. The sheet does not plan a work route, move furniture or predict when an area will be dry.
Keep the requested floor area distinct from the task itself. A household can identify an accessible strip while still needing to establish its finish or confirm what cleaning can be requested. Ukraine Cleaners' services page supplies business scope information; it does not turn an observation into an agreed task.
Choose the next question from the evidence
If material or finish is missing, the next useful step is an identity record. If identity evidence exists but the requested area is unclear, turn the observation into a precise scope request. Both questions can remain open at once; do not mark one resolved because the other is complete.
NWFA's wood guidance and Daltile's ceramic/porcelain guide illustrate that material-specific care sources have different scopes. This observation sheet intentionally gives no care method. Its finished output is a clear description of areas, evidence and missing information.

Floor area observations
Record what you see and what is documented in separate fields. Add another row at a material transition or when the evidence changes.
Worksheet entries stay in this page while it is open and are not sent to a server. Closing or refreshing the page clears them. To keep a copy, use Print. Avoid entering private addresses, account details or personal information.
Your floor observation note
Add an observed area. Appearance does not populate the material or finish for you.
Where evidence is missing, keep identity unresolved and ask for records before a care method is chosen.
Examples, kept separate from your notes
Illustration only — hypothetical entry-to-kitchen observation
- Area name and boundary
- Entry strip at kitchen doorway
- Visible surface observation
- Narrow plank-looking surface beside a square-pattern surface
- Transition or adjacent area
- Visible joint at doorway; materials not established
- Documented material/finish evidence
- No product or finish documents found
- Accessible area and blocked part
- Entry strip visible; boxes block part of the kitchen side
- Unidentified item or access question
- Which product covers the strip, and what kitchen area will be cleared by the household?
- Next information task
- Both identity and scope need work
One observation can create two different next actions without requiring a cleaning method or a work route.
